His areas of expertise include hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, umbilical cord blood banking, use of genomic profiling for personalized cancer treatment, and new drug development for childhood cancer and sickle cell anemia. He participates in pediatric clinical trials for cancer, bone marrow transplantation, and sickle cell disease.
Dr. Ferguson is a professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology-Oncology, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, and director of the Division of Hematology-Oncology at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
Professional memberships include: American Society of Clinical Oncology; American Academy of Pediatrics; American Society of Hematology; American Society of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology; and Medical Advisory Board of the Bone Marrow Foundation. He is also a member of the Executive and Scientific Committees of the Beat Childhood Cancer Consortium.
