Dr. Kimberly Spence provides care for premature and extremely premature infants, normal and sick newborns, babies in Level II-IV neonatal intensive care, and offers consultation services for expectant mothers. She also treats babies who receive outpatient care in the high-risk nursery clinic.
Dr. Spence is involved in palliative care, with particular interest in ethical issues related to end-of-life care. She specializes in quality improvement initiatives and neonatal abstinence syndrome. Her research interests include the improvement of care to the families of infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome.
Dr. Spence is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
