He performs lateral skull base surgery and ear surgery, and treats facial nerve disorders, hearing loss, acoustic neuromas, sensorineural hearing loss, and specializes in cochlear implants and bone-anchored hearing aids. His services include: surgery for deafness; surgery for facial paralysis; head and neck tumors; and Meniere's disease.
Research interests include: hearing outcomes in chronic ear surgery; outcomes of skull base surgery; management of skull base lesions; and treatment of patients with facial nerve paralysis and paresis.
Dr. Sappington is an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Division of Otology and Neurotology, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the North American Skull Base Society, and the American Neurotologic Society.
His interests include fly fishing, cycling, reading, traveling and golf.
