Deepika Bhatla, MD

Dr. Deepika Bhatla treats young patients with blood disorders, such as leukemia, Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and performs stem cell transplantation and bone marrow harvest. Her services also include cancer risk assessment and counseling, cancer pain management, chemotherapy, and bone marrow aspiration and biopsy. Dr. Bhatla treats myelodysplastic syndromes, neutropenia, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, and hemoglobin disorders.

Her research interests are leukemia biology and stem cell transplantation.

Dr. Bhatla is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology and Oncology, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

Her professional memberships include: the American Association of Blood Banks; American Society of Bone Marrow Transplantation; American Society of Clinical Oncology; American Society of Hematology; Indian Academy of Pediatrics; the American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology; and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Gateway Chapter.

Dr. Bhatla participates in the Pulse Polio program, vaccinating infants and children under the age of five against polio.
