Dr. Daniel Aaronson is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in the surgical treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors. He provides expert care for pediatric and adult patients of all ages, utilizing the latest minimally invasive and image-guided techniques - including awake brain surgery, laser tumor ablation (LITT), and intraoperative MRI.
He has extensive experience managing a wide range of conditions, including gliomas, meningiomas, pituitary tumors, skull base tumors, spinal cord tumors, and other complex neurological disorders.
Dr. Aaronson believes that neurosurgical care should be highly personalized, technically excellent, and guided by compassion. His goal is to help patients facing brain or spine tumors navigate complex decisions with clarity and confidence, using the most advanced tools available to optimize outcomes while preserving neurological function and quality of life. He is committed to bringing calm, expertise, and honesty to every patient interaction.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Aaronson is actively engaged in research aimed at enhancing brain tumor surgery through advanced imaging and artificial intelligence. His work includes the development of AI-guided tools to support safer, more effective surgical planning and intraoperative decision-making.
Dr. Aaronson is an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Neurosurgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the Society for Neuro-Oncology.
